Introduction The exhibition focuses on the records of late Qing scholars' encounters with Western society, with approximately 100 sets of Western scientific artifacts from the collection of the Tsinghua University Science Museum. This year marks the 550th anniversary of the birth of the great Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, the 480th anniversary of his death and the release of his opus magnum – De revolutionibus orbium coelestium. In addition, most scholars indicate that it was between 1512 and 1513 that Copernicus published a 19-page document called Commentariolus which disclosed his heliocentric theory of the universe for the first time. To present and publicize the achievements of Tsinghua University and stimulate the enthusiasm of teachers and students for innovation, the Publicity Office of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, Research and Development Affairs Office, Office of Technology Transfer, and Tsinghua University Science Museum (in development) jointly hold the exhibition “The Relentless Pursuit of Progress and Innovation — The Tsinghua Exhibition of Science and Technology Achievements during the 13th Five-Year Plan”. 38 displayed projects all derive from the exhibition of national achievements in scientific and technological innovation held at the Beijing Exhibition Centre in October 2021.

This exhibition presents the history of information technology, highlighting the major milestones and the most influential people in the fourth and fifth information revolutions. Through historical artifacts and providing the context and discourses of each era, the audiences can grasp the historical position of scientific research in a humanized perspective.
